Motherhood Sessions – What they are and why you should book one!

When you’re in the throws of motherhood and the days are busy and the nights are long, it can feel like this stage in your life will go on forever.

We think we’ll remember every detail.

My children are now 15 and 11 years old and what I wouldn’t give to travel back in time and document the moments I mothered and nurtured them.

These days I’m lucky if I get a peck on the cheek followed by some indistinguishable grunt (teenage years are another kettle of fish, let me tell you!)

I look at my children and wonder where have the years gone? I try to pinpoint when it was they stopped needing me quite so much? Letting them go is SO hard!

I’m so proud of the boys they have become and the men I know they will grow to be.

Anyways, I’m not here to ramble on about my missed opportunities, I’m here to tell you, you’ve still got time!!

Motherhood Sessions typically take place when your little one is between 4 weeks old to 4 years old These are intimate reflections of your time together and can include siblings.

Some of my favourite moments include breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, showers/baths, snuggled up on the bed or all cwtched up on the sofa. Skin to skin works really well and each session is as individual as you are and completely tailored to your comfort levels.

I know these days we photograph everything on our phones, but more often than not it means that YOU’RE missing from the photograph.

You’re busy doing all the mothering things including documenting all the milestones and yet you’re the person that’s mainly absent from the moment.

So, YES!

Motherhood sessions are all about YOU!!

It’s about you giving yourself something that will fill your cup as the years roll by.

The boring but practical bit:

All my motherhood sessions take place at your home – this is where you’ll feel super relaxed.

A face time call before the session is a must and only takes 15 minutes of your time.

We will discuss your comfort levels and I’ll adhere to them

I allocate roughly 1-2 hours per session (but I’ll not be watching the clock)

So, why should you book a session?

Because I want you to be kind to yourself and let yourself be present in the moment because you deserve it!

Yes, payments plans are available at no additional charge (because that’s only fair in my opinion)  Just talk to me, we’ll figure something out!

Here’s a beautiful Motherhood session I photographed recently which will give you a clear idea of what to expect.

Here’s what Jessica had to say about her motherhood session:

“I would highly recommend a motherhood session! Jo was honest, open, warm and friendly to work with. This is the first photo session we’ve had where my children and I were totally relaxed and enjoying ourselves!! The photos are incredible!! Intimate, artistic, flattering and so, so special” – Jessica
